Back by popular demand, we’ll be hosting another beer and cheese tasting with our good friends from Winding Road Artisan Cheese! We’ll be pairing six different Alley Kat brews with six different styles of award winning cheese.

Your ticket includes the cost of beer, cheese, cheese pairing accessories, and take home material. We will also have order forms for you to purchase your favourite Winding Road cheese at a discounted price at the end of the night! From the Farm: Cooking with the Season @ Get Cooking

We’re very happy to introduce this first edition in our new series of monthly From the Farm cooking classes. Kathryn and Elyse will be joined by our friend and colleague Tam Andersen of Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm for a menu focused on her exquisite produce. Throughout our four course menu we will be focused on local, and choosing ingredients and products from other artisanal producers, growers and local businesses in our region to complement Tam’s products. We hope that you will join us for a meal designed to get you cooking with the season, and celebrating the incredible people and ingredients that make our city such a tasty place to live! Please note that the night’s menu is not yet finalized but coming soon.

Vegetarian and gluten free substitutions are available on request.

Discount for Booking the Series: We are encouraging you to join us for the full 4-month season of classes from January to April with a 15% discount payable as a refund after booking. Upcoming classes are on February 21, March 21 and April 25. For 3 classes booked at one time the discount is 12%, and for 2 classes 10%.

Class Fee: $139 per person, plus GST. Your Fee Includes: a 4-hour class, a full meal with drink pairings and a recipe pack to take home.

JACEK Chocolate Experience & Tour – Release your inner Cocoanista!
Learn all about chocolate, from the history to how chocolate is made from the cocoa bean. Participants will have the opportunity to taste roasted cocoa beans, savour single origin (country specific) chocolate from around the world, and understand what makes high quality chocolate so special.

In addition to the chocolate presentation and tasting, participants will have the opportunity to tour behind the scenes at JACEK.

The event takes place at our Sherwood Park studio (406 Kaska Road, Sherwood Park, AB, T8A 4G8).

Ticket price includes a special gift for you to enjoy at home.

Recommended for ages 12+.

Note: There is no wine included in this event.

FAQs

Is there wine served at the chocolate tasting events, or can we bring our own? No, alcohol is not permitted at chocolate tastings.

Can I swap my ticket for a future date after the cancellation period (up to 7 days before the event date)? No, but you are welcome to transfer the ticket to someone you know who can attend the session you are registered for.

Are there nuts in the tasting samples? There are no nuts in the tasting portion of the event, but please advise your presenter about your allergy as there may be instances where nuts are served in the tour portion.

Is the tasting dairy-free? No, milk and dark chocolate are included.

How long does a tasting usually last? 1.5-2 hours

Coffee Tasting and Appreciation Course @ Transcend Coffee

Join us for an unforgettable evening of coffee education! During this 2 to 2.5 hour course, we will delve into how coffee is grown and harvested as well as how we roast and brew coffee. We will taste a variety of coffees from different regions around the world and discuss different flavour profiles and how things like acidity and body affect the way we taste and perceive coffee.

The course includes:

An introduction to the world of specialty coffee
Tasting and discussion of several coffees from different coffee regions
Stories and discussion from our many sourcing trips
Question and answer period
Two sample size (60g) bags of coffee to take home and enjoy
