Chinese Community Lunar New Year Celebration

Presented by the Edmonton Chinese Community, start your Lunar New Year off with a bang at Kingsway Mall with Lion Dancing, Year of the Rat craft-making, traditional music ensembles and so much more! Over twenty local non-profit organizations will also be taking part in the event!

Make sure you grab an activity passport on the day of the event! If you complete the passport, you get a FREE mini New Year Cake (while supplies last) and anyone can play! Don’t worry, if you’ve never had New Year Cake before, we’ll give you instructions to cook this tasty traditional treat!

Storytelling Corner – Marty Chan and students of the Chinese Bilingual program will be sharing some New Year stories and putting on some puppet shows!

Kung fu, Tai Chi, Chinese Dance mini workshop area – Local instructors will be leading short sessions throughout the event to give you a taste of each activity. Learn more about martial art clubs and dance studios in Edmonton!

Year of the Rat crafts, Chinese Calligraphy, Wishing Trees, Fortune sticks, live traditional music, Chinese Chess, Dough art and more!
