In this workshop you will learn the method of making pizza dough, what ingredients are needed, how to hand knead dough, proofing the dough, making a simple tomato sauce, shaping the dough for a pizza and finally, how to eat a pizza! Simplicity is the key in Italian cuisine, so you will learn a simple technique and simple and healthy ingredients to top your personal pizza with. Also, the dough can be frozen for future use!

As a group we will make a pizza together and everyone will make his/her own dough to take home.

Participants do not need to have had experience with cooking to participate.

Material fee: $6 each. Please bring cash to the event. (No one will be turned away due to lack of funds!)

To Bring: If you have a scale to weigh flour, please bring it. Also please bring a reusable container (like a glass or steel bowl) to transport your dough ball home.

Instructor Details
Anthony Dionigi is of Italian ancestry and was exposed to pizza his whole life. He became interested in homemade pizza through his father who owned a pizzeria in Toronto, through his brother who is a Vancouver-based chef, from working as a line cook for many years, but also through personal interest in homemade meals.

In August 2017, Anthony built a homemade outdoor pizza oven on his father-in-laws farm in Austria. To shorten it up: Anthony simply loves homemade pizza!
