Panasonic Falcon Experience

Panasonic Falcon Experience

July 12, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
20102 Township Road 512
Beaver County, AB T0B 4J1

Get hands-on experience with Panasonic mirrorless cameras and lenses while taking stunning photographs of peregrine falcons at Phil and Helen Trefry’s breeding facility.

Phil and Helen have been breeding peregrine falcons and practicing falconry for over 30 years, first at the Canadian Wildlife Service Peregrine Falcon breeding facility and later at their acreage at Upsan Downs.

You will get a chance to see young peregrine falcons honing their flying skills in a two-week tame hack, a technique used to prepare the falcon to become an independent hunter.

The hack is done from the Trefry’s deck and the birds will be flying between buildings, perhaps chasing each other playing aerial tag. The birds will be outside rain or shine. There is a large covered deck for protection from the elements if there are showers. In between flights the birds will be available for interaction during the event.

Please arrive at 6.00pm and bring an extra SD card to try out a Panasonic mirrorless camera. This event is part of the Panasonic Try Before You Buy program for Panasonic cameras and lenses at McBain Camera. Panasonic will have multiple bodies and lenses available for you to try. You do not need to be a Panasonic or Mirrorless user to join us on this photo experience, simply utilize Panasonic’s free 3 day Try/Buy program.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided by Panasonic Canada.
