Sarah Burton & Jody Peck at the Beaver Lodge

August 9, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The Beaver Lodge

Longtime partners in crime Sarah Burton and Jody Peck (Miss Quincy) are joining forces for a hot and dusty summer tour of Canada’s Wild West.

Join us Friday August 9th for a beautiful night of entertainment at THE BEAVER LODGE in EDMONTON!
7:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

Sarah’s fourth full length record “Give me What I Want” (March 2019) is raw Americana and Indie Rock, telling classic stories in a modern age – exploring love, lust and disenchantment in the unending search for fulfillment. Jody’s debut solo album “Wild Northern Way” (to be released), is a vintage country tip of her hat to the north, chronicling stories of love above tree line, gunslingers, and her legendary cook shack, featuring just the right amount of twang as she belts it out like a rock ‘n’ roll Patsy Cline.

The two musicians met naked and naive, back in 2009 on the Western Canadian tour trail (that golden era before skinny dipping was outlawed at Artswells Festival), and have shared many adventures and misadventures since. Sarah and Jody’s shared lust for experience has got them in and out of jams the world over, and they’ve woken up everywhere from Wicken snake dens to radio mogul mansions.

The co-conspirators had to go their separate ways after several close run-ins with the wrong side of the law – sending Jody deep into the Mackenzie Mountains of the Northwest Territories, where she paid her debts hunting, trapping and foraging. Sarah, meanwhile escaped south to the Mexican border, playing every cantina and watering hole in Brewster County, carving out a life in the harsh Chihuahuan desert.

With time passed, debts paid and names cleared, Jody and Sarah have lived the lives that are now immortalized on record and are reuniting to bring you the Wild West Road Show. Performing solo on acoustic and electric guitars, they will each bring you true tales from their respective journeys in the extreme reaches of North America. Tales of love and adventure and even a few collaborative numbers will keep you entertained for hours. Don’t miss the Wild West Road Show this summer 2019.

On Sarah Burton:
“…a voice that draws you in to her compelling narratives, conveying equal amounts of yearning, vulnerability, innocence, and hard-earned wisdom…compare her to the likes of Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, and even rockers like Tom Petty.” – John Montagna, Culture Sonar

“Not unlike most, Burton has had her share of good times and bad. But unlike most, she has the uncanny ability to shake off the chains that bind by sketching song lyrics that both amaze and inspire.” – Jim Villanueva, All Access Music

On Jody Peck:
“…one listen and I was immediately hooked. By her voice, by her songwriting ability and musicianship, but mostly by the authenticity of her songs. This is a woman who has lived what she sings.” – Stephen Quinn, CBC Radio One
