#FoodTruckFriday – Knosh Catering
Knosh Catering came onto the Edmonton Food Truck Scene in 2013. I was fortunate enough to be able to try their fare at Eden’s Market on 124.
Anyone that supports Eden’s Market has a special place in my heart; Eden’s Market is run to support YESS (Youth Empowerment and Support Services). Many wonderful vendors and the family members come together to put on this extra-special Farmer’s Market. I digress…
Stuart Parry is the man behind Knosh Catering. He grew up in Leeds England and has always had a passion for food. He has been in the food service industry for the last 25 years. Two years ago Stuart decided to take his passion to the street and purchased the food truck and catering company. He called the company “Knosh” which is an old British slang for “Let’s go Eat”. With the Food Truck it has given him the opportunity to take his love of British cuisine to the streets. Using traditional recipes with a bit of a twist, they make and bake everything fresh the day it is sold.
British fare is something that there is not a lot of in Edmonton. Knosh is able to bring you the British Pub Food Experience in a mobile format. This foodie can usually tell when the Chef prepares the food with love… Knosh seems to have a lot of it! The “twist” in their pub fare seems to be the home-made flavours.
For a food truck, they have a decent menu selection. Most trucks limit to a handful of choices. Knosh likes to keep you coming back for more by offering a few standard favourites and then some “a la carte” choices daily.
As you can see, prices are very reasonable, and the menu sounds fantastic.
Yorkshire Pudding is something that is not easy to make well. Knosh makes it well AND gives it their own twist. You have seen wraps done with flat-bread, pita, naan, and now Yorkshire Pudding. Behold “The Joint”:
So this “sandwich” is rosemary-braised beef topped with Knosh’s house made slaw. The beef is nice and tender, not at all dry. I love the rosemary flavour, it just goes so well with the whole sandwich. The house-made slaw is also lovely with fennel seeds and great veggies. You could wrap this all up and eat it like a taco, but I prefer the knife and fork method. This can get messy!
I also suggest trying their Earl Grey Iced tea. Another twist on a traditional British flavour. Very refreshing.
Knosh’s Rumballs are also a foodie favourite, but pretty much any of the dessert items that Knosh offers will tickle your tastebuds and make you want to go back for more!
If you are in the downtown Edmonton core for lunch, you should try to find Knosh and try them out. They are usually parked on the north side of Jasper Avenue and 108 Street. They are at the Terwilliger (SW) Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and at Eden’s Market on 124 on Sundays. Check out the Street Food App to find them daily!
If you are looking to have a nice fancy British High Tea, Knosh also caters for private functions. Please see their website for more information.

I have had the privelege of enjoying his food from the truck as well as having him cater to private functions! Always consistently good, always fresh and homemade, and he is knowlegable about things like allergies and gluten free. Only complaint is… its so good to eat that its hard to stop!!
