Festival of Witchcraft & Wizardry

Put on your house colours, or your best cosplay, jump on your broom, and come enjoy a day of spells, charms and fantasy.
Events take place between 2:00 and 9:00 pm.
If you do not purchase any event tickets, you are welcome to peruse the Dragon Alley market of local vendors selling magical wares and handmade items (2 – 9 pm), and patronize the Food Trucks selling English style fare including gluten-free and vegan options (2 – 9 pm). You can also watch Quidditch Practice (6:30 – 8 pm) take Wizard Yoga (4:30 & 5:30 pm) participate in activities at the Library (2 – 5 pm) and just enjoy the festive atmosphere and costumed characters. All ages welcome.
Tickets are required for the following:
2 – 9 pm Cold, sweet Buttery Beer and warm, spicy Pumpkin Juice (Drinks are non-alcoholic and no alcohol will be served at this event.)2:30 – 8:30 pm A Photo Booth, which includes a professional print and emailed image of you in a magical location (up to 4 people per photo)
2 – 4:30 pm The Magical Express Train, featuring characters from your favourite movies (tickets required for ages 3+). Additional trains may be added closer to the date of the festival.
3 – 9 pm Witchcraft and Wizardry Classes on subjects such as Care of Magical Creatures (3 & 4 pm – featuring live owls), Potions (5 & 6 pm), and Defense against the Dark Arts (7 & 8 pm)
4:30 & 5:30 pm Wizard Yoga is FREE and open to all, but you can rent equipment for it for $15, which includes use of a yoga mat for the duration of the class, and a hand-made Wand ($12 value) which is yours to keep.
7:30 pm A Wizarding World Quiz, to test your knowledge of the magical world, with some pretty epic prizes.
9:15 pm Practical Magic (Warner Brothers has put a moritorium on all public screenings of the Harry Potter movies, in anticipation of their new Fantastic Beasts film. Therefore, we are unable to show any of those films at the festival. We have therefore selected this poplular classics on the theme of withchraft & wizardry, which we hope you will enjoy, and keep in the spirit of the day.)
All tickets and all drinks MUST be purchased online. We will not be taking any payments on-site. All events are within a 5-minute walk of each other. Parents/caregivers are responsible for their own children at all events. Locations of individual events are indicated on tickets.
A site map will be posted on Facebook closer to the date, showing the locations of all events. It will also be emailed to all attendees.
The festival will continue regardless of weather, but the trains cannot operate in heavy snow. Therefore, if we have that weather, the trains will be cancelled, and the tickets refunded.
